Zotero and MindManager – Two Great Programs for Scholarly Production

In my last post, I tried to explain the genesis of my interests in thinking about digital writing practices and technologies. I promised that I’d demonstrate some of those interests and that thinking with some of the very writing technologies that I myself use. So here it is.

Here’s what I used to put together this video and blog entry:

Hardware Video Camera (for the introduction) External Mic (for the screen capture audio)

Software Camtasia Studio (for screen capture) Adobe Premier (for video editing and production) YouTube (for hosting and distributing the video) WordPress (my blogging platform software) Creative Commons (to create a license which allows you, or anyone else, to take, alter, remix, redistribute, praise, or hate-on this video for attributed, non-commercial purposes)

(BTW: I gotta remember not to use that video camera mic. Yikes. And for some reason, YouTube is not distributing the video in HD. Hopefully, they’ve got that processing done by the time you see this.)

If you’ve got any responses, criticisms, praises, contributions, task-takings, riffs, questions, ideas, or a simple need to see your comment in pixels, please, please, don’t hesitate to leave a comment. Better yet–get yourself a blog, give it a cool name, write something in response to this entry, and post your url here. I’d love to share what meager traffic I’m managing to generate. Looking forward to hearing from you. Soon, then…
